Dear Clive

Clive McKeag Mr Clive McKeag our senior consultant provides advice on a range of legal issues and is published weekly in the Chronicle Extra.

I recently suffered an accident where I was involved in a Road Traffic Accident. I have never wanted to make a claim because I have been put off by all the adverts on television and the "cold calls" I get in the evening. My back is still hurting and I do think I should be compensated, but I don't want to be endlessly hassled or have my details passed round to lots of companies. Would it be any different if I approached a solicitor directly? regards, Kirsty

Dear Kirsty, Firstly there are strict regulations in place to prevent cold calling where personal injury claims are concerned. I appreciate that the level of marketing targeted at people who have had accidents can be overwhelming and excessive and to avoid the scenario that you have described I would always recommend that you contact a firm of solicitors directly. Solicitors are highly regulated when it comes to marketing their services and have a professional obligation to keep your personal information absolutley confidential unless you direct otherwise. They will not use cold calling and they will not pass on your details. Your are entitled to compensation for your injuries and at McKeag and Co we would be able to act for you on a No Win No fee basis where you would also keep 100% of your compensation. Please contact me to discuss your claim further on 0191 2131010, kind regards, Clive McKeag
