McKeag & Co Solicitors are currently looking to recruit an Assistant to join our Accounts Department.

Your Role will involve assisting the department with administrative duties, including communicating with clients.
Salary to be discussed at interview, dependent on experience.

Responsibilities will include

  • Checking and posting client invoices.

  • Electronic payments, including CHAPS, BACS.

  • Review and management of client ledgers.

  • Petty cash.

  • Nominal payments.

  • Taking card payments.

  • Dealing with general enquiries and administration.

  • Performing bank reconciliations.

  • Checking for errors and reporting any SAR breaches.

  • Ensuring compliance with relevant rules and regulations.

  • Liaising with compliance officers, clients, auditors, regulators, suppliers and banks.

  • Dealing with HM Land Registry payments.

  • Dealing with HM Courts and Tribunal Services.

  • Setting up and completing Sales, Purchases and Transfer of Equity etc.

  • Dealing with Legal Services Commission.

  • Other Adhoc duties.

Skill Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of two years experience working within legal accounts.

  • Must have experience of Solicitors accounts rules

  • Can work individually and as a team

  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy

  • Computer literate

  • Excellent time management skills.

  • Proficient with use of Liberate, Proclaim, Redbricks, Excel and Word.

    • Preferable Experience, but not essential as training will be given.

  • Work well in a team.
